| A track editor would be a welcome addition. That said, SSBB's stage editor wasn't all that great - here's hoping that this is better. |

| Wonder if mission mode will return? It was sort of in Mario Kart Wii, and we all know (it was officially confirmed after all) that Mario Kart 7 was rushed to launch to 'save' 3DS in holiday season 2011. - beemoh wrote:

Better than DLC if true. Hope Nintendo put a proper community spin to track creation if it does happen. The question is: how long until Phillips makes a track shaped like a penis? |

| If the track editor is true, it would tie in to the logo. The "mobius loop" of 8 being the symbol of infinity = infinite tracks. |

| Wait: MKWii has a mission mode? That remains my favourite Mario Kart mode ever! How did I miss this? And what form did it take? |

My penis course on smash bros actually played really well, and I could see it being a good race track. |

| Wow. Don't get me wrong, that is one news entry which quotes from a distant-sounding source, so I don't believe it yet. But if so... wow.

They stuffed the missions into the 'tournaments/competitions' you could partake in every month (week? I forgot). It wasn't quite as good as mission mode, mind, variety wise (I guess it did mix things up a little by making players use a Wii Wheel exclusively for some levels) but it was pretty cool. Then the Funky Kong/Bowser Bike combo was discovered and the leaderboards became trivial. More emphasis was placed on getting high scores than just clearing the levels, if I remember correctly (did Mission Mode on DS have a star ranking system?) |

| Yes, it did. You had to get over 1* on each mission to unlock... something (can't remember what).
It's a shame I missed out on that, then, although I'd rather they were free DLC than only available for a month. And the best parts of the DS version were the bosses from SM64, which I'm guessing MKWii didn't have. |

| No idea where these track creator rumours have come from, but I can't see it happening.
(Remember this post if the track creator happens) |

| A track editor seems like the natural evolution for Mario Kart, I don't think zero gravity is enough to sell this to anyone looking for something a bit new, it's something Sony have done twice already so we don't need Mario Kart to fall behind, even if the gameplay is always gonna be superior to any other Kart racer. |

| It's what I expect but it definitely needs something new, even if it is just a returning mission mode. |

| If there's one thing I know to be categorically true (i.e. have picked up from PS4/One fanboy bickering), it's that anything below 1080p is rubbish. |

| So this is news to me... MK8 will be the first console Mario Kart to display other people's items, which as we've seen in MKDS/MK7 completely changes the strategic part of item use online. MK8 is on the left. |
