I think this is why game movies don't work as we play the game and the drake in the game is the one we know not the guy who will play him. But some are okay first resident evil as they didn't use any of the main characters just a base of the plot but they've got worse after each sequel and tried to add people we know. Tomb Raider also due to Angelina looking so much like Miss Croft, there might be a few others. But most are bad, but if TLoU gets a good cast such as this girl from thrones and we know the plot is good enough to be a film. Same with AC having Fassbender it all helps, I can see it going a bit like comics there will eventually be one film that gets it right. Also watched LEGO Movie and everything was awsome. |

I think it's biggest issue is it will have to face up to a genre (apocolyptic/virus/zombie) that's been done to death in the film industry (things like Mad Max, I am legend & countless others) & that's before they have to sell it to a movie going crowd, also just because a plot works for a game doesn't mean it will for a film. I personally don't think films of games will ever work as if you lean to much towards the game you lose the film aficionado & too much in the other direction you lose the gamers. (who is a big part of your target audience) |

| The problem is that games are so close to films now; the characters already have a distinctive look and sound, almost like real people, so an actor is never going to fit with the version of the character in our heads.
Also; Sharknado 2 in a few days! Who's excited? |

| I think it'll happen eventually- it just needs a creator to take the film seriously as a film in its own right, not as a straight adaptation or as a Bollesque tax writeoff. Something like how all the comicbook films are their own universe, albeit with a huge base in the printed works.
The real barrier, to me, is the loss of involvement. In even the most linear titles the game is 'your' story, while the film isn't- something you don't get when moving from print. Maybe that'll change as games get more story driven, more filmy and- dare I say it- progressively less interactive. |

| I think TLoU might be the one with Rami behind it, but hey David Cage could actually just make a film. |

| His Spider-Man films were a great homage to silver age comics and the action etc was brilliant, but I disliked his version of spidey and especially Mary Jane. Spider-Man 2 was a godamn masterpiece even with all that, and without the first one we probably wouldn't have all these superhero films now. |

| Should have reported on this a while ago, but, I saw Age Of Extinction a few weeks ago. Big, dumb fun with more plot holes than plot. At least it wasn't as bad as the third one. Not quite Age Of Exstinktion, then (saw it, had to use it). |

His avg on metacrtic is 52 but then they reckon Tarantino is a 64. |

| Just watched Frozen for the first time in forever (I'm allowed one, right?) and I must say it is pretty great. It's funny, there are lots of pretty colours and the songs are really very good. Perhaps not listen to them everyday good, but still good.

| Saw Guardians Of The Galaxy. I'm sure the film would have improved significantly if - TMI:
I hadn't been shitting my guts out for most of the first half-hour
but it was a damn fine yarn nonetheless. Y'all of y'all should go and see it. |

Film was good then? Had mixed reviews from the family, who didn't really rate it. |
