I'm going to add a character called Fanny in my next chapter.

A deathly serious little adventure full of intrigue and drama but with silly names and innuendos is pretty much my ideal scenario.

Eh, I'm not a big fan of penis humour.  I guess it comes from having a single-sex education where drawing male genitalia on the whiteboard was the highest form of wit.  (Jay's .gif is making me laugh though.)

"Then why did you name the guard Dick?" I hear you cry.
"I DON'T KNOW," I shout back, before frothing at the mouth and falling over.

(Just to clarify, I am definitely not trying to tell anyone what to write or what not to write here.  That would undermine the entire point of the thingummy, not to mention guarantee that Beemoh's next passage would be just a continual deluge of penis jokes.)

Aye, the .gif was partially in jest - whilst I wouldn't be too amused at seeing our story become Carry On Steampunk, there's nowt wrong with a sly innuendo here and there.

I'm partial to the odd penis joke, you might be surprised to hear, but I would hate if all that undermined us trying to write a decent story. We should treat it the way I used to treat school work; you do the best work you can while sneaking the jokes in for your mates.

Did I ever tell you about the monologue I did in drama about addiction which brought a few people to tears but had a final line that revealed it was about Tetris and was full of in jokes for my mates? No? That was basically the whole story.

Did I ever tell you the one about the grown man who pissed himself in Tesco?

That Tetris one needs expanding on.   

Seconded. Tetris in-jokes are good in-jokes.

This was a good seven or eight years ago, so I'll do my best. It was in an English language class for gifted and talented students at GCSE which I really wasn't that fussed about and I did a monologue about addiction that I'd already told all my friends was about Tetris. Then I just filled it out with lines like "it all just stacked up" and "people think it's all just a game". It wasn't especially funny apart from the fact that people were laughing while the teachers had absolutely no idea why and it made them look super insensitive.

...Yes, okay, it wasn't that funny.  You probably had to be there.

You also had to be 15.

Gents, I've got a job interview tomorrow, so I won't be able to write my bit in time. Painfully short notice, I know, but could someone else take over? I'll be able to slot in right afterwards, for sure.

As part of interviews for my line of work you have to do a sample lesson. I'm getting it ready right now; I shouldn't even be typing this! :affraid:

This writing stuff is tougher than I thought, Ill get it up after uni tomorrow as I'm only in til 11. More fun than the interview prep/dissertation writing I should be doing!

Good job that ZJ!  (Hieronymus is a combination of that upgrade chap from Skyward Sword and Ted Tonate in my eyes.)  I'm going to do something that we used to do back in FFs of yore: a tracking post, showing where all the characters were last seen, in chronological order of last appearance.

Three vampires (two female one male): Going back into the palace

Dick the guard, his younger colleague: Outside the palace, watching the vampires go in

Chuck: Chuck-ing up in the lavatory, having been seated

Cooper: Going upstairs from the kitchen, with glasses

A masked man with no invitation: The kitchen, adding to the goodies
