I'm watching IGN Live of this where I got a name drop for my question about amiibo, anyway whilst watching they answered about Single Player which is about 5hrs long.

I didn't expect much if single player but as long as they get these online updates out quickly then I'll be happy.

Yeah same as it's clearly a MP game it's just a bit annoying only two maps for 4 hours.

But as I got the amiibo as well, I'll just play a few MP within that 4 hours then go some other bit's in till it the maps change again.

Well from the IGN live, Jose didn't feel short changed from the SP and that it was great but couldn't say more because of NDA's but the amiibo adds more SP content though which was my question and seems like they are very much worth buying from what he said.

I can't say I'm worried about the supposed length of single player since it looks like it will have some good replay value and that the MP was always the main focus for the game.

I've also found when a reviewer says it's finished in X amount of time you can usually double that for the average person.

Hmm I've always had about the same times of reviewers and I think most are just average gamers.

I've not moved into my new place, Mas, and am strongly considering getting fibre optic for there. However, I've never been a big online gamer.

So, Game's lorry-load of Special Editions was stolen! DRAMA!

I was given the option to keep my pre-order but sans the squid amiibo, however I'm not particularly fussed about the boy one if I don't have the full set. I've cancelled that pre-order and ordered the game from Tesco where a combination of my staff discount and doubled-up vouchers nets me a copy for £16. And I've ordered the inkling girl from Amazon.

Might pull an all-nighter on this Friday night, if anyone else is playing?

I've been reading some reviews most seem to love the fresh gameplay, one site even said if it came out in previous era it would suit the dreamcast. But the main issue no matter how fun it is to play is lack of content especially if you don't buy the amiibo, most are saying.

Yeh I know but it's the squid ones that were stolen and I was offered just the boy and girl, so I went elsewhere to get just the girl.

I'm really hoping mine cones tomorrow as if it doesn't I won't get a chance to play until late Sunday evening.

I've been having an absolute blast with this, yesterday alone I played about 5 and a half hours (no I haven't beaten single player yet) and I honestly don't get the "not enough content" argument that has popped up in some reviews at all.

In MP you have a decent amount of things to work towards (weapons, clothes/levelling up abilities etc) and so far the SP seems like it's paced pretty well for a shooter, if Nintendo never told us about the upcoming updates I think some would be singing a different tune.

I got mine today and I'm loving it so far At first I thought only being 4v4 sounded a bit crap but now I quite like it, in something with lots of players like Battlefield you can be amazing and still lose but in Splatoon it feels like you're actually making a difference

My amiibo has arrived but not my actual copy of splatoon.
Looking at my email, it has the expected date as "between Friday 29th and Tuesday 2nd".

Hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow and I can get a good night of play in before I go to my parents on Sunday. I've already text my mum to say I won't be up Saturday night as I'm working late.
But if I have to wait until Tuesday, heads will roll. Last time I pre order from tesco. Fuck tesco and everyone who works there.

I wasn't entirely sure I was going to enjoy it - I'm no longer a shooter fan, and, outside of a "deathmatch" mode, I usually feel with e.g. Team Fortress 2 that I'm the only one who doesn't know what they're doing. But I'm genuinely having a great time so far! I thought the map limitation might be an issue, but I've not got bored yet.

Really fun and I've not got bored yet of only 2 maps for 4 hours as I've not been on that long and the times I've have after about 3 or 4 games the next lot has come up.

But that's annoying that it takes you back to the hub and tells you about them, just let me continue playing.

Also was killing it last night, won about 5 games in a row and I was top each game and I'm getting more use to the aiming that I can now splat the other team easily and spend all 3 minutes (whatever it is) spraying ink.

What's everyones favourite ability? I'm a big fan of Ninja Squid, being able to sneak behind an enemy and cover up their ink while they waste time trying to shoot where you used to be is really useful
