What's everyones favourite ability? I'm a big fan of Ninja Squid, being able to sneak behind an enemy and cover up their ink while they waste time trying to shoot where you used to be is really useful Anything that's related to ink, so that's ink saver for main weapons and ink recovery up so I can spend more time inking and less time submerged the defence up and damage up abilities help me here also. |

| So what do we all make of the ranked battle mode Spat zones? I absolutely love it as it's turned a game that's all about fun into a true test of your skill at the game, matches can be quite intense as the timer for each team swings back and forth as zones are captured and then countered. It really is one of the most fun point control match types I've ever played in any shooter, this is fast becoming one of my favourite games of the year. Also adding this weapon is just a stroke of genius. |

| I'm not yet at level 10 so haven't been able to try the old splat zones. But I can't wait - I actually find myself thinking "I wish I was playing Splatoon right now...". To answer the question about abilities; I think (read: hope) by having a speed boost and defence thing, and using an automatic rather than a paint roller, that I've performing some kind of selfless support role for the others. I probably just look like a lunatic, cavalry charging forward at the start of each match and inevitably getting splatted by 4 enemy inklings. |

| I've probably spent more time on single player at the moment. Really enjoying it though, I just could do with a bit more time to actually play. Bring on the weekend! |

| Yeah the single player is great as well, typical of Nintendo EAD that every level sees a new idea introduced to it. |

| It might be tough (thanks to the basic join friend option) but it'd be fun to see if we could get a GNamer only turf war to happen this weekend.
(do 8 GNamer-ites have the game?) |

| So, Splatoon is ace. However, I am getting a bit tired of watching Stewie Griffin's vampire cousins burble about the latest weapons and on-line stages. |

| Aye that bloody needs a skip option pronto, it's only going to get longer the more modes they add to the game. |

| If it proves annoying by loads of folks, Nintendo will probably fix it. I can't remember where it was - possibly on Twitter, noting that it was a bit of a pain when the 4 hour map swap happened (the game let the timer lobby count down to 0 and claimed there was an error); Nintendo have just updated it to fix this. So I'm confident that what little gripes there are should be sorted. And of course you can always hammer A to fast-read the text! #minigame |

| There are a few little niggles like that, but they don't majorly impact my enjoyment of the game and I have no doubt Nintendo will patch it really well going forwards.
Splat Zones is really good, but I definitely prefer the standard mode. I think the problem with Splat Zones is that a lot of other games have done very similar things but Turf War is completely unique. |

| I've loved every minute of this so far, 2 worlds down in single player, the 1st set of Squid Amiibo challenges done and I've just reached level 10 in multiplayer so a little behind everyone else so far but I'm slowly getting there, looking forward to trying out the ranked battles soon. It's just so much fun though, even when you lose you still come away with that sense of enjoyment, I really feel Nintendo have hit the nail on the head with this one and if they continue to update like they've began then this is just going to keep on improving.
I'm still getting a feel for the different weapons and strategies but I'd rather boost my gear before I do that so I can get the right upgrades fo the right weapon. |

They have but I'd have to say it's one of the most intense and exciting point control match types I've ever played in any online shooting game, especially when it's a close run thing that goes into extra time and has a team winning by a point or two. I also prefer the maps that have two zones to control rather than one big zone, though the one on walleye warehouse is clever as the platform in the middle splits up the zone. |

| Finally plucked up the courage to go online today - won two, lost two. I'm not as bad at it as I feared, which is a welcome relief. Also did the first Girl Inkling amiibo challenge and discovered that charge weapons are appalling. |

| When I've been in the right zone, I've had some absolute crackers online; getting enough points to make up for a weak team, getting 15 kills to one or two deaths, generally kicking ass. Other times, I've been watching a film or skyping someone or something and its all gone to shit. I'm almost on level 17, mind.
As for the single player, I've not done a lot yet. I think I've beaten the second boss? But will get round to it soonish. |

| I've not met a sniper yet, but there are people with shields of some description, and drone guns. It's all very hard on my low-levelled character; though I can hold my own sometimes, I get mown down with frightening ease and regularity. |

| They get dropped into the arena, fire ink from their front and back, and rotate to cover the ground around them. |

| The 3 minute rounds work to perfection; close matches remain tense throughout and there's always a great sense of urgency to harass the other team or to paint as much as possible , whilst slaughters are over quickly. |

| I was being such an annoying shit on this yesterday morning, in a few matches on skatepark if we had the enemy team pinned back in the final minute I'd head for the enemy spawn to trap them and I must of clocked up about 7 or 8 kills in that final minute.
They just had no chance move very far as I'd reposition myself slightly and pop up from my tiny ink patch and surprise them over and over. |
