| Who goes to the trouble of hacking a game to make it less fun? |

| So, how are you's finding the splatfest? I love the night time aesthetic and the little neon glow the ink gives off in turf war battles, I've also rarely had really close games like you normally do.
Most are usually one sided win or lose, I honestly can't wait to see the final results. |

| I really enjoyed the Splatfest. Was stunned at the plaza when I saw it for the first time: So much bustling activity and seeing Miiverse posts as neon signs and fireworks was a sensory overload of sorts! I think more weighting needs to be given to the win ratio though, as a lot of these categories aren't quite the 50/50 choices they might have seemed to be. On a related note, I love how all the in-game music is characterised by an actual in-game band: The Squid Squad. Interestingly, Callie and Marie replaced all of their music during the Splatfest. Hearing their rendition of the "one minute left!!!" tune had me grinning from ear to ear! - Jimbob wrote:

Yup, I've never understood this. People like options or feel empowered to give themselves more options, but really I just find it disrespectful to the designers' choices at times. User needs are nice and all, but failing to appreciate why things are designed as they are can be pretty irksome. |

It's already worth double of the popularity vote though but I see what you mean as folk now know how it works & the popularity vote could be easily skewed in future splatfests, I just think Nintendo want it to be a a fun event rather than a super competitive one as the differences in rewards win or lose are quite small. |

| I enjoy watching the hackers work on the game, they find it fun to see what they can find, and it's not causing anyone any harm is it? |

| I need to give that weapon more of a go as after thinking it'd be my favourite before it was released I wasn't all that impressed when I actually tried it out. |

| Yeah I thought I'd love the inkbrush, but everytime I just suck with it. I think rollers are just plain better - easier to get kills, and they are champs at spreading ink.
Having said that, I have witnessed some inkbrush users play really well. Makes me wonder if it's a weapon you've got to learn. I also pretty much only play turf wars, wouldn't have thought brushes would work well in splat zones though.

| You've both said what I was going to - everyone seemed to be totalling me with the inkbrush when it first came out; I tried switching to it, and just ran with diarrhoea-like streak into an area where I was a target, having not covered much ground at all. I accept that this is because I suck; Pineapple, if you know how we're supposed to use it, please tell us! |

| I spent a bit of time giving it another try the other night and after a few games I was managing to average between 750-850 pts per game with it (pre win bonus btw) I think the important thing to do is only hold down the ZR button when you want to get somewhere quick otherwise you should be tapping the button like a mad man to spread your ink making sure you are moving forward when you think an area is sufficiently covered. (Maybe drop a sprinkler to fill any gaps)
You also have to very carefully think of the fights you are getting into so either stay out of them as much as possible or stick close to a team mate for back up.

| Wow, that's about as good as my pre-bonus averages with my mains - krack-o-Splat & Aerospray. I'll give it another go later and if I can use those tactics successfully.
I imagine that, like rollers, certain maps - eg. ones with escape routes and corners - will work much better for a brusher, who will also rely a little on good team composition - having enough shooters to harass the other team whilst you flank/layeth the ink down. |

| My souls obsession and the inconvenience of a full time job have meant nowhere near enough Splatoon this month. Will have to rectify that... |

| I tried out the Inkbrush again the other day, and using Jaster's tactics I was averaging about 600-700 pre win bonus. It is absolutely not a weapon you want to go looking for trouble with, and I think that's where I went wrong with it at first because I seemed to be getting dominated by it when I first started Splatoon, so I played it far too aggressively when I had a go.
I still prefer the roller and rapid fire weapons, but it is nice to know I can rock a brush every now and then. |

| To coincide (almost) with the update, the next Splatfest is due on the 8th August. North Pole or South Pole.... Yay! This will hopefully be he first one I take part in, holidays and the like have stopped me previously. |

| I think the timing of these have been a tad odd as they've often got in the way of new modes or maps being released & this upcoming one is the same, I also wonder if Splatfests will lock out the new private/custom games like it does with Ranked battles. |

| It does? Though I suppose it all depends on what your average score is as your points from matches are converted into XP. |
