| Silver Linings was mighty strange to me but I kind of liked it. The next Hunger Games is out before too long, isn't it? My girlfriend's obsessed with it. She says she watched the DVD fifty times. |

Basically, everyone knew he should've had the Oscar for A Beautiful Mind but the academy missed him so they threw him one for Gladiator. Lawrence should've had one for Winters Bone or whatever it was called but didn't, so they gave her one for a romcom. Obviously I haven't seen it so I might be selling it short. |

Hasn't yet worked for Jim Carrey. I couldn't argue with Lawrence winning, although I thought she would've been more deserving for The Hunger Games than Silver Linings Playbook. Personally, I thought the best female lead performance of last year was Elizabeth Olsen in Martha Marcy May Marlene, but of the Oscar nominees (Otherwise unusually spot-on, especially once you consider MMMM came out in April, which often sweeps these things out of contention) I would've gone for Quvenzhané Wallis for Beasts of the Southern Wild, an absolutely stunning film and a really incredible performance from her, especially considering she was 5 years old when it was shot. |

No chance - her performance in SLP was so much more layered than in The Hunger Games. |

No chance - her performance in SLP was so much more layered than in The Hunger Games. I found the film a lot more frothy than everyone else seemed to. I'm normally a real fan of that kind of quirky romcom genre, but, other than Lawrence's performance, didn't see that much to love, rather than like, about SLP. I think maybe it's just because both films hang on her performance, and Hunger Games is the superior film. I am somewhat worried about the sequel through. I've read the book, and think it does go up a notch, but the change in director and speed of the turnaround worries me. |

| I've not seen Hunger Games so can't say it's any good but it's a different genre, so not sure how you can say it's a superior film to SLP which I thought was a great romcom no (500) day's of summer mind you. |

I'd agree that Hunger Games is the superior film (I found SLP to be very tonally confused) but I think the superior acting comes in SLP. The vulnerability and rage she portrays in SLP is miles ahead of the heroism which we've seen before from different people time and time again in Hunger Games. |

| Just rewatched Avengers Assemble. Gosh, Mark Ruffalo is good as Bruce Banner! It's beyond time that he got to do a Hulk film. |

He was definitely great in the role but he was a little too well built, I thought. Banner needs to be really really skinny so the whole hulk thing makes more sense. |

| I was talking about this tonight with some friends and the conclusion was Hulk works fine in an ensemble but we just can't see him being all that great as the sole focus of a film. |

| The problem is that the best hulk stories are not the sort of films Hollywood wants to make. He can be a very deep character which asks questions about humanity but Hollywood hulk is just a bargain bin king Kong who punches baddies really hard. A good hulk film should make you feel like you don't want Bruce to change but instead they make it the money shot we're all waiting for. |

| True, Buska - another Hulk film would have to be handled really carefully. It's possible that they've messed around with the character too much in his previous two standalone films to have a third one make any sense at all. It just seems sad, now that they've signed up an actor who can do the character justice. |

| Hulk doesn't need to tie into anything.. He goes off and does his own thing all the time, if they wanted to tie it into the Avengers and what not just do what Shield does and keep bringing it up.
I only started the Hulk comic series a few years ago and there are heaps of standalone stories they could do other hulks they could bring in.
I would like to see Hulk Vs Red Hulk as a movie |

| They described it on Film 2013 as being as important to cinema as the Lumiere Brothers recording the factory workers back at the start of the 20th century. Is that really true? |
