| Does splitting the book in 2 leave ample time to actually explain what's going on/actually have some action instead of the majority being build up? I've found the previous 2 films to be disappointing, confusing messes having not read the books. |

| Just watched The Marine starring John Cena. I went in with literally no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Action packed and surprisingly funny and knowing Also shocking poor taste in places. |

When I saw the first one I'd not read the book and thought that Haymitch and Effie were married. This one seems to have a bit more explanation to it but the majority of the action is saved for the next one. There wasn't a great amount of backstory in the books, to be honest. |

| Jurassic World this looks good which I am surprised as I did think this would & could still be just a quick cash grab but from that trailer it might not be. |

| As I've said on Twitter, it can honestly be the worst plot with terrible acting but as long as I get a good amount of on screen dinosaurs I couldn't care less. As it is, it looks like it might be alright. If there's too much underwater stuff with the liopleurodon that will share the shit out of me. |

| I like that twist otherwise it'd just be a re-run of the other movies, the genetically modified dinosaur gives it an air of mystery it wouldn't have I just hope they can keep how it looks a secret until release. |

| They were hybrids in the original, that's how they swapped genders and ran wild. This feels like a logical continuation of the "you were so concerned with whether you could you never stopped to ask if you should" angle of the original film. |

| It looks like it will be smashing stuff. Not a fan of the villain (I assume it's the villain) doing the voiceover for the trailer; that's getting a bit old hat now.
Also saw Alien for the first time the other day. It was... alright.
That is all. |

| Something about that trailer just made me feel like a cat whose been rubbed up the back the wrong way. I guess I'm just not keen on this continuation of the jedi and sith centric plotlines which it is clearly going to have going by the title and narration, it also came off to me as trying to be too serious. I guess because I'm reading The Heir to the Empire right now, despite being non-canon my mind is just automatically comparing the two and the teaser didn't fair all that well in the comparison.
Still, I'll do the sensible thing and wait for more before properly judging the actual movie, as a teaser they want to pull in peoples interests while giving absolutely nothing away so there isn't anything really substantial to go on yet. Still the things they showed didn't grab me, and no amount of "it's just a teaser" will change my mind about how disappointing having generic evil narrating voice 101 narrate the teaser was. I'd have rather'd no voice at all and just a bunch of meaningless images to get the hype going than some melodramatic generic evil voice narration. Also not keen on the lightsaber, this seeming inability to give villains a standard lightsaber nowadays just gets on my nerves. Vader didn't need that sort of nonsense, and he is pretty much the undisputed most iconic villain in fiction. |

That is all. I don't want to scare away the new guy but......................GET THE FUCK OOT! Don't mind me but I will fight anyone to the death who has anything bad to say about Alien which to be fair you didn't but it did get my back up a little. |

| It wasn't bad, not at all, but it was hard to appreciate it because I've been so overexposed to the plot and certain shots keep cropping up in parodies and suchlike. I imagine it's the same way for anyone who hasn't seen Star Wars; there's no way it can possibly live up to the hype. |

| Saw Interstellar the other day and it left me a little cold. Didn't hate it by any means, but I certainly wouldn't watch it again, a one-time experience. Just seems dragged out in places, and for each clever scene and bit of dialogue, the file off-set it with a silly thing.
Also, and I know this won't be many people, but the hype around how "accurate" it is bothered me. It just sometimes feels pretentious with it's "I'm dealing with real Science, pleb viewer! The meaning is so deep you probably don't get it!". Which I am fine with when it comes to the high-concept wormholes and black holes, but when the basic orbital physics are so damn nonsensical, it feel too preach-y. I love me silly sci-fi normally, but if you want to brag about how clever and accurate you are and how serious you should be taken, some basic orbital considerations would make the whole piece feel less full of itself.
I'm trying not to spoil anything, but after a 3rd quarter that was my favourite bit of the movie (and seemed worth the wait), it ended on a long, dull note. Sometimes less is more with these sorts of tales...
Oh, and also LOUD! |

| Little to no interest in Suicide Squad, but Bond 24 news is interesting. Not sure I like the Andrew Scott casting, but I'll still see it. I am a bit worried that the plot of the early Bond films will be hanging over this one like a...Spectre |

| I'll go for the opposite side and say that Suicide Squad is in interesting casting and that I don't care about Bond. Not overly thrilled about Joker being in it tbh, feel that might take away a lot of attention from what could be an interesting bunch of dudes. Also Will Smith? I do not see him as a Deadshot, with the brilliant Deadshot in Arrow I can't say I'm impressed with that casting... |

On new films I've just seen the new Terminator trailer, which is very confusing time wise but I think Matt Smith is in it so maybe he's in it to explain all of that. |
