Attack on Titan Thread (Contains Spoilers)

At Jay's request!  The general assumption being that we'll be talking about the latest episode to be broadcast, so be careful if you're slightly behind: unless anyone needs the time to catch up?  And when do the episodes actually broadcast?  Saturday?

Yeah, I was in the same situation, but I couldn't wait after Episode 20 so went searching for another stream.

Speaking of Episode 21, it's been all but confirmed that the Female Titan is this individual, right? Also, am I right in saying that they were suggesting that the Armored and Colossal Titans are also humans?

Yeah, right now odds seem high that Colossal and Armoured are humans who turned in to Titans and that is what the show is suggesting.  I would like to also point out when Colossal Titan first appeared outside the wall there was a explosion like effect that sent Eren flying (when they were kids), and when it appeared while Eren was on the wall there was a lightning bolt very much like what happens when he transformed and when Female Titan transformed in episode 21, so that pretty much cements him as a human Titan.  

As for the time thing, I typically watch Titan on Wednesday as that's when the legal local stream puts it up, which also has good quality too.

The likelihood that the Armored and Colossal Titans are characters we've met makes me want to avoid thinking about who they could be. The fact they slightly resemble their human counterpart makes it even worse.

You were spoiled? As to the identity of the Colossal and Armored Titans? That wallpaper alone of the Armored Titan has already got me wondering about this guy (DON'T CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT WHO IT COULD BE)

Yes.  (DON'T Google "Colossal/Armored Titan".) And I get what you mean: it's the haircut, isn't it?  I'm not saying whether it's right or not, though.

I've had my suspicions of Armored Titan for a fair few episodes now myself, but I won't voice them in case they end up being correct. Even if Armored and Female end up being who I think they are though that just makes me start wondering why with an even bigger curiosity. The one great thing about this series is that an answer to a question just leads to several more questions. And things don't always pan out how you think they will either, I knew about Female Titan before Trost had even finished airing because one of the tracks on the ost had a title that basically translates half in to Female Titan (it also happens to be my favourite track), yet this arc went somewhere completely different to what my mind was expecting.

Or, well, not really. I just wanted to say that Levi is absolutely adorable.  Poor Eren, though: but somehow, I doubt he'll be killed off.

Poor Levi. He's fast approaching becoming my favourite.

I guess Eren's off to the Military Police? That'll mean we get some Annie/Eren interaction, although I have no reason at all why they would ever think we'd be interested in Annie.

Weren't they just going to... you know... cull Eren?

Crap, that was their plan, yeah. Still, he'll be in the hands of the Military Police for a least a little bit, so I'm sure we'll see Annie. Although I can't see her getting involved in any way whatsoever, she's such a minor character.

It's grand though - really can't predict where this is going, the sign of a good show that is.

EDIT: Started reading the manga, I caved. SO. MANY. QUESTIONS. Anyone else reading the manga?

I've caught up to date with the manga. I am so so so so confused right now - seriously, this is worse than LOST.

I'm just going to wait for the anime to handle the story myself, the risks of being spoiled aside I just prefer how the anime handles what happens (I've read a few volumes of the manga, just not past where the anime was at the time).

Anyhow, I just finished episode 22 a little while ago and I have to say that damn, Levi was just amazing.  When they got back from the expedition I lost any and all sympathy for the people inside the walls, these guys go through living hell for their sake and the best they can do is whine about taxes.  And now the authorities want Eren.  After this I'm honestly questioning whether these people are worth saving, it seems the whole of society is just completely broken.  

The preview just threw me for a bit of a loop, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

Also I found another absolutely awesome wallpaper yesterday, and don't worry, this one's not going to spoil anything.  Then again I didn't think the Armored Titan one did either, but this one is just a group thing set with the gang as cadets, so nothing big is in it, it's just cool.  Some of the fan wallpapers Japan makes just leave me speechless honestly.

Oh and I forgot to say this earlier, but Female Titan crying just makes me wonder what the heck is going on even more and wonder about what these transformed titans motivations are. I'm not expecting any answers for that however, as answers seems to be the last thing this series gives out.

Don't expect many. After reading the manga I feel like one of the passengers on the boat in this scene.

Sounds like I should buckle down for a wild ride then. I take it the series hasn't toned anything down in the material beyond the anime.

Are they going to make episodes out of all the chapters that are out? It's not really a spoiler, but I'll tag it just in case:

They're only doing 25 episodes for the show at the moment (or is it 24?  I forget which), so if we find out later on then we're likely not going to this season then.  I like the sound of it getting confusing though.

I also just finished rewatching episodes 21 and 22, quiet the soul crushing experience I must say.  And now my music player on shuffle has started to play Vogel im Kafig too, this isn't helping!
